The Mosquito Fleet, a fleet of small steam-powered ships that buzzed through the local waterways since the 1840s, holds a special place in the hearts of the locals. These vessels, like busy bees, tirelessly transported mail, goods, and passengers from Gig Harbor to Vashon and from Seattle to the San Juan Islands, connecting communities and fostering the growth of commerce in the Puget Sound region.

At Mosquito Fleet Winery, we not only strive to honor the past but also to achieve excellence in winemaking. The founders' love for great wine and their desire to share it with others led them on a journey of art, science, and passion. The winery's story began to take shape when the owners acquired a property near the old St. Charles Winery, Washington State's very first bonded winery. Inspired by the historical significance of the Mosquito Fleet, we chose the name to pay homage to the region's maritime heritage and the captivating stories that deserve to be shared.
In 2009, Mosquito Fleet Winery started its winemaking journey with just 200 cases, which were patiently crafted and not released until 2012. Over the years, we have established strong relationships within the industry, gaining access to some of the finest vineyards in the state. From Phinny Hill and Paul Champoux off Horse Heaven Hills to Kiona and Quintessence Cabernet off Red Mountain, we carefully select the best grapes to create our award-winning wines. With a focus on quality, the winery produces approximately 3,000 cases per year, ensuring that each bottle is a testament to our commitment to excellence.

To ensure the utmost satisfaction, Mosquito Fleet Winery carefully ships your wines during specific months, protecting them from extreme temperatures. If you prefer, you can also opt to pick up your wines directly from our tasting room, located at 21 NE Old Belfair Highway in Belfair, WA. The tasting room is open on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, providing the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Mosquito Fleet wines.
